Silver Hawks 7, Dragons 5: The Silver Hawks (5-1) survived a 4-run eighth inning by host Dayton for their second straight win over the Dragons.

The Silver Hawks scored their runs in a 4-run first inning and 3-run seventh inning.

Derrick Walker had two hits—including a 3-run homer in the first inning. Aaron Hanke had a single in the second and double in the seventh. He scored on a double by Elijah Rumler.

William Spottiswood struck out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth for his fifth save.

The teams meet again tonight at 7 p.m..

Zambrano On DL: Cub ace Carlos Zambrano is on the 15-day disabled list, although a scan on his (right) pitching shoulder revealed only a minor strain.

Zambrano injured his throwing shoulder a week ago against the Tampa Bay Rays. He is expected to miss two starts.

Tiger Has Surgery: Tiger Woods had reconstructive surgery on his left knee yesterday.

It was the second time in 10 weeks Woods had surgery on the knee and the fourth time since 1994.

Doctors said that with proper rehabilitation and training Woods should not have any long-term effects from the injury.

Woods will miss the rest of the season which includes the PGA, British Open, and Ryder Cup.
