Kyle Busch Wins at Darlington: Kyle Busch solidified his hold on the Sprint Cup points lead with a win in the Dodge Challenger 500 at
Busch led 169 of the 367 laps and finished nearly four seconds ahead of Carl Edwards to post his third Sprint Cup victory and seventh of his career. He had to overcome brake issues, loose lug nuts, and several scrapes against the wall—he couldn’t remember how many.
South Bend’s Ryan Newman dropped out of the top 12 in the Sprint Cup standings with a 37th place finish. He was two laps down after a penalty, got one lap back, and was hit by Brian Vickers car coming in to the pits on lap 239. He dropped to the 13th spot, 426 points behind Busch.
