Silver Hawks 8, Loons 3: Rightfielder Jimmy Principe, one of the newest Hawks, had four hits--including two doubles--, one run, and one RBI.
Pinch-hitter Sean Coughlin had a 2-run double as the Hawks came up with seven runs in the bottom of the ninth to break open a close game. Aaron Hanke contributed two hits for South Bend.
The Hawks (9-3) return to the Cove in first place in the second Midwest League half-season. They begin a four-game series tonight against the second-place Lansing Lugnuts--who won 11 out of 12 games between the two teams in the first half-season. Game times are 7:30 p.m.

Wimbledon Tennis: Defending champion Venus and two-time winner Serena are still on course for annother all-Williams final at Wimbledon.
They are aided by the fact that the top four women's seeds have been upset.
On the men's side, top seeds Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal appear headed for another showdown. Federer has reached the quarterfinals without losing a set; his next match is tomorrow. Nadal, the French Open winner, also won his last match in straight sets.

Mugabe Sworn In: Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe was sworn in for his sixth term yesterday.
Mugabe had finished second in the general election in March, but Morgan Tsvangirai did not get the required 50% of the vote to win outright.
Tsvangirai pulled out of Friday's general election after violence against members of the Movement for Democrat Change (MDC) left 80 people dead and thousands injured.
