Silver Hawks 4, Lugnuts 0; Silver Hawks 2, Lugnuts 0; Wizards 6, Silver Hawks 1: The Silver Hawks won a series against the Lansing Lugnuts for the first time this season. South Bend leads second-place Lansing by one game in the second half-season.

Joshua Collmenter (9-4, 3.25) pitched seven innings of no-hit ball July 4 against the Lugnuts. He struck out seven and walked one. There are strict pitch count rules in the Midwest League, so Collmenter still had to come out with the no-hitter and the lead. He did get the win.

South Bend center fielder and Midwest League All-Star Evan Frey has been promoted to the Class A Advanced California League Visalia Oaks team. Frey was leading the Hawks with a .327 average and 101 hits.

The Hawks face the Wizards again tonight at the Cove; game time is 7 p.m.
